NORODOM ENGLISH SCHOOL

Norodom unit is the headquarters of Pro Labore Dei Cambodia and that is where the NGO has largest free English School. It’s functioning with two foreign teachers, three local English teacher that are paid monthly as well as part time kindergarten paid volunteer teacher.

The school open 08:00 in the morning and closes 17:00pm in the evening. The kids didn’t learn only the English but they also get the knowledge that make them more understanding about our social and environment.

It has morning and afternoon sections. The kindergarten school opens 08:00am and stop at 10:00am. It is two hours class from Monday to Friday. And the high school class other wise called the “middle age class” start 08:00am and run to 10:00am as well.

The two classes functions simultaneously. And so are the afternoon classes too. The afternoon classes start 13:00 and finish 15:00. The adult class is made up of the university students and those that cannot afford to attend higher institutions due to financial constrains.

UDONG UNIT

Udong is about an hour and half drive from Phnom Penh. The employed English teacher lives around the clients in a not too distant village. We intend that the children of those living in the blue tent areas would have access to education in English in order to support their Khmer education.

Every month apart from the day to day support we provide them. PRO LABORE DEI shares to the women bags of rice for their families and offers support for the aged among them. This exercise supports their living since they don’t have enough to live on. P.L.D also goes house to house to meet the people. At some point we provide them with medications, give money to fix leaking houses and buy some material thing.

BANTEY MENCHEY UNIT

This unit is over seven hours away from Phnom Penh by bus. We have three teachers teaching in P.L.D English School. And every month we take food to the destitute around them.

Sewage Unit

Sewage is the place where people make a living by picking up garbage. They live near the rotten smell of water. They have many children - some 5 kids and some 8 member in the family. We gave the food every Monday and teaching English for them. We are welcome by all people young and old.

JAPANESE BRIDGE UNIT

Most of the kids in this slum area do not go to Khmer school because they have to support their parents by picking garbage.

P.L.D supports the poor parents with food and sometimes money to help their living. As for their kids, we teach them English and skills. Equipping the kids to find an easy life in future. We also encourage their parents to send them to Khmer School. And in some cases we pay their fees to ensure they go to school like every other child.

CHUNG EK

Chueng Ek like every other slum gets our food support every month. But we also cook food and take to them in large number once a week. We assist some of them financially who have business ideas. At all times we try to give their lives a meaning and equip their children with skill and good education to make a formidable impact in the society.

CHILDREN STUDYING ENLGISH IN PRO LABORE DEI

P.L.D in her mission and work of giving support and hope for the poor to find a good and better life their world tries as much as possible to rehabilitate those that the society has abandoned.

To deposit in them confident to become self-reliant, resilient and inventive. In this part of the world within this few period of our stay, P.L.D has put smile on the face of many poor homes. Making their hopeless children to know what it feels like to have the maximum comfort and care they lacked in time past. Restoring the joy to live and basic education to stay focused. It is not only studying , the kids gets to have fun through the trips in Phnom Penh where they get to spend a wonderful time enjoying sites of the beautiful places .
